## Description

We are pleased to announce the participation of Kader Attia at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Koyo Kouoh, opening on 9 May and running through 22 November 2026 in Venice.

Invited to this 61st edition, this marks Attia’s third participation in the Biennale, following his previous appearances in 2011 and 2017. 

Kader Attia was born in 1970 in Dugny, France, to Algerian parents, and lives and works between Paris and Berlin. Over the past two decades, he has established himself as one of the most influential voices on the international contemporary art scene. His practice rigorously investigates the legacies of colonialism, cultural identity, and systems of power, with a sustained and internationally recognized research on the concept of repair as both a political and aesthetic strategy. Through sculpture, installation, film, and archival material, his work engages critical debates on history, memory, and restitution.

His third participation in the International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia underscores the lasting relevance and global impact of his practice within contemporary art discourse.
