Snapshots of art show: El común: Nuestra Lucha es por la Vida At the EastSide Cultural Center in Oakland as part of the Third Annual Enero Zapatista In the S.F. Bay Area On view January 16 - February 28 Thu & Fri 12 pm - 5 pm The work of the artists in the art exhibit show how the influence and impact of the EZLN and the Zapatista movement and iconography. Silkscreen, paintings, wooden snd paper machê sculpture, images of Comandante Ramona and other Zapatista figures and documentary photography from one of the flashpoints in the struggle to defend the land, a diverse group of artists weave an open ended and shared vision and understanding of the Zapatistas in the U.S. context.
