## Description

The process of making Navegante's paintings begins before the canvas. It all starts with the collection of toá in their indigenous territory. With the help of the cié, a small mangrove crustacean, the artist finds pigment in the soil through an interspecies relationship between indigenous humanity, animal life, and geology. The entire process is part of their work, from careful observation of the landscape's signs, excavation of the surface, selection of sediment, to washing, decanting, and preparation of the paint.
