## Description

A public talk by visual artist Lua Cavalcante titled “Poéticas da Deformidade” (Poetics of Deformity). The event reflects on deformity as a force of displacement, invention, and creation of new languages. It explores experiences that challenge beauty standards, functionality, and perception, aiming for more inclusive and sensitive practices in art and cultural institutions. The talk invites the audience to imagine the museum as a more porous space for diverse bodies, narratives, and ways of being. Lua Cavalcante is a visual artist, samba circle dancer, and belongs to the Kixelô indigenous people from Iguatu, CE. She defines herself as a political-pedagogical artistic body, using the poetry of disability as a source of strength, memory, and enchantment. Her practice includes self-portraiture, performance, and installation, blending DÉF culture, ancestry, and affective accessibility. She is a samba dancer in the collective Sambadeiras de Roda and works as a performer, pedagogical coordinator, and manager at Casa Moringa. She is an independent consultant in Cultural Accessibility, a master's student in Design and Transformation at the University of Brasília, and a specialist in Museum Management and Innovation. The event is free with 100 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
