Em alto mar e no museu ⛵

O artista francês Daniel Buren ocupa o MAM Rio com onze velas de barco coloridas e listradas na mostra “VOILE/TOILE - TOILE/VOILE”. As obras chegaram ao museu após uma performance feita pelo artista na baía de Guanabara no final de janeiro. 

Concebido desde os anos 1970, o trabalho transforma velas em telas ambulantes, fazendo com que elas se movimentem para além do espaço museológico e em diferentes países. Realizada em parceria com a galeria Nara Roesler, essa é a primeira vez que a obra é apresentada no Brasil.

French artist Daniel Buren takes over Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro (MAM Rio) with eleven colorful, striped boat sails in the exhibition “VOILE/TOILE - TOILE/VOILE.” The works arrive at the museum following the performance carried out by the artist in Guanabara Bay at the end of January. Conceived in the 1970s, the project transforms sails into mobile canvases, setting painting in motion through space.
Held in partnership with Nara Roesler gallery, this marks the first time the work is presented in Brazil.
