The Opera Locos

The Opera Locos is a Spanish company Yllana creation that mixes great opera arias with physical humor, clown, gestural theater, and even pop and rock songs. It received the Max Award for Best Musical Show in Spain in 2019. The story brings together five eccentric lyrical singers attempting a perfect recital, but egos, romances, and entanglements turn the gala into theatrical chaos. The narration is built from music, body, and visual comedy, with fragments of works like La Traviata, Carmen, and La Flauta Mágica, fused with classics from Elton John, Whitney Houston, or Bob Marley. In 2026, it arrived in Buenos Aires with a local production by Juan José Campanella, featuring performers from the lyrical world and Teatro Colón.
